HOME IS A STORYLINE

So this is growing up: time seems to pass by so swiftly, we're no longer protected by the shield of our beloved parents, and when we return to our hometown, it doesn't quite feel like home anymore. Why does this happen? Nostalgia floats in the air as we pass by the old hangout places in… Continue reading HOME IS A STORYLINE

My Depature from feminism.

I am no longer able to align myself with a movement that has lapsed into the basic intellectual follies of confusing correlation with cause and with insisting upon a monocausation model that seeks to regard everything through an either/or lens. The abject failure of contemporary middle class Feminism to deal with the multi-variate inputs of the gender equation has rendered it cringeworthy.

My family of choice.

So, I empower all those reading this who ended up in families with people who are incapable of, or perhaps simply disinterested in, providing healthy support to acknowledge and hang on to the ones who do support you. It’s okay if those people don’t have the same last name as you or if their skin tone isn’t the same as yours. The human experience isn’t meant to be an isolated one; if you find someone or a group of someones who like you for you, embrace it. #RelationshipGoals is having 100% of the relationships in your life be with people you don’t have to change yourself for.
